Health Specialist – Adolescent Health (P‑4, Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Health Specialist (Adolescent Health) will provide strategic leadership, technical expertise and programmatic guidance to strengthen adolescent‑responsive health systems and services worldwide. Working with governments, development partners, UNICEF Regional and Country Offices, the incumbent will support the design, implementation, monitoring and scale‑up of evidence‑based programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and promote global frameworks, technical guidance, quality standards and programme tools for adolescent health.
• Support policy reform, institutional capacity strengthening and evidence generation across sexual and reproductive health, mental health, substance use prevention and disease prevention.
• Lead quality‑improvement initiatives at scale and facilitate multisectoral programming.
• Manage programme results monitoring, strategic partnerships, resource mobilisation and grant management.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public health, global health, adolescent health, health systems, epidemiology, health policy or related field.
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience in adolescent health, MNCAH, health‑systems strengthening or primary health care.
• Proficient English language skills; additional UN language or local language is desirable.
