HR Business Partner / HR Director – Core Business Unit

About the role

This position is for an experienced HR Business Partner or HR Director who will lead people strategy for a core business unit within a globally distributed, technology‑driven organization. Based in Kenya, you will act as a strategic partner to business leaders, shaping employee experience and supporting growth across an international workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to align workforce effectiveness with strategic objectives.
• Design and implement HR strategies that drive business growth, employee engagement and retention.
• Oversee workforce planning, staffing, and talent acquisition to ensure the right capabilities are in place.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, succession planning and off‑boarding.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives and create a positive work environment.
• Maintain HR policies, processes and compliance while improving operational efficiency.
• Monitor HR metrics (engagement, turnover, workforce efficiency) and provide data‑driven insights.
• Drive HR projects that balance strategic priorities with day‑to‑day execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Director in an international digital, technology or fast‑growing company.
• Proven track record in managing the employee lifecycle and implementing HR processes.
• Strong analytical ability to work with HR metrics, payroll budgets and compensation data.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and delivering measurable HR impact.
