About the role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Human Resources Assistant to manage benefits and leave of absence (LOA) processes. The role supports employees and managers across multiple states, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while delivering a positive employee experience.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end LOA cases, verifying eligibility and maintaining accurate records in HRIS.
- Guide employees and managers through LOA policies, documentation, and timelines.
- Review medical certifications and determine appropriate leave types.
- Coordinate FMLA and state‑mandated leaves with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide timely communication throughout the leave lifecycle and track usage against balances.
- Handle inquiries via phone and email, support investigations, and manage escalations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and meet departmental KPIs.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of HR experience, preferably in LOA, benefits, disability, or workers’ compensation.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, FMLA, and multi‑state leave regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
