Information Management for Evaluation Support Intern

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking an Information Management Intern to support its Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) in Nairobi. The intern will assist with knowledge and information management for decentralized evaluations, helping to improve tracking, documentation, and workflow automation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IEU in maintaining and enhancing tracking tools for evaluations, recommendations, and follow‑up actions.
• Support the structuring, filing, and archiving of evaluation reports, management responses, and related documents.
• Develop and automate simple workflows using Microsoft 365 tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint, Lists, Teams, and Outlook.
• Contribute to the preparation and formatting of internal guidance notes and user instructions.
• Provide general administrative and information‑management support to the IEU as needed.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate or final‑year undergraduate program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in information management, information systems, library science, evaluation, social sciences, development studies or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter ideals.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Microsoft Power Platform applications (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps) and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with workflow automation and basic information‑management processes.
