Internal Audit & Risk Officer II

About the role

The Internal Audit & Risk Officer II provides independent assurance that the Authority’s risk management, governance, audit and internal control processes operate effectively. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and reports to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of policies, frameworks, guidelines and procedures affecting internal audit and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Assist in developing and executing risk‑based annual internal audit plans and programmes.
• Collect and collate data to prepare audit reports with recommendations.
• Conduct follow‑up audits to verify implementation of audit recommendations.
• Support capacity‑building programmes to raise awareness of governance, risk management and internal controls.
• Maintain and update audit records for proper documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance) or Business Administration (Accounting/Finance) from a recognized institution.
• CPA Part II or ACCA Part II certification, or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
