Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will report to the Head of Change and be responsible for delivering business and technical solutions that support Absa Bank Kenya's strategic and operational objectives. The role involves managing projects of varying size and complexity across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, develop business cases, charters and obtain sponsor sign‑off.
• Lead large‑scale projects or work streams, coordinating resources, budgets, timelines and risk registers.
• Monitor progress, produce regular forecasts and status reports for steering committees.
• Ensure compliance with Absa project methodologies, regulatory requirements and enterprise risk frameworks.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement, communication and governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing medium to large projects in a banking or financial services environment.
• Ability to work with senior executives, steering committees and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent).
• PMP certification (or equivalent).
