Internal Auditor (Information Systems)

About the role

Thika Water and Sewerage Company is hiring a full-time Internal Auditor (Information Systems) in Thika, Kenya. The role provides independent, risk-based assurance and advisory services on the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the Company's information systems, IT governance, risk management and internal controls. It reports to the Chief Manager, Internal Audit.

Key responsibilities

• Identify key information systems risks (including IT projects), evaluate and test controls and recommend improvements
• Formulate risk-based engagement plans and audit programmes for IS audits
• Perform audits in line with audit procedures, methodology and GIAS 2024, and comply with policies and procedures
• Document working papers on audit tests, prepare audit reports and follow up on past recommendations
• Carry out ad hoc special assignments and investigations
• Take part in preparing the Annual Audit Work Plan, focusing on information systems
• Coordinate documentation of audit findings with clear recommendations
• Implement and monitor the use of the audit management system, data analytics tools and other systems used by Internal Auditors
• Supervise auditors on engagements, reviewing deliverables and giving guidance
• Provide advisory and consultancy support across the Company

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, IT or equivalent
• CISA certification (mandatory)
• At least 3 years of experience in information systems auditing
• ISACA membership (mandatory); CIA certification is an added advantage
