International Schools Consultant – East Africa (2‑year Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Hachette Learning is looking for an International Schools Consultant to drive the growth of its educational resources across East Africa. You will act as the primary liaison between the company and schools, helping teachers and curriculum advisors discover and adopt Hachette’s learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with heads of departments, teachers and curriculum advisors in East African schools.
• Provide market intelligence to the International Sales Manager on distributors, agents and new opportunities.
• Develop deep product knowledge of back‑list and front‑list titles, especially Cambridge, IB, HL Publications, HL Adaptive and Academy.
• Achieve sales targets and grow market share within the region.
• Travel up to 14 weeks a year to conduct school visits, organise one‑to‑one meetings and arrange book displays.
• Identify new markets, agents and customers to expand the territory.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Brand, Customer Success and the Schools Relationship team.
• Participate in internal meetings and industry conferences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in education, publishing or sales with a track record of managing relationships and driving growth.
• Strong commercial awareness, self‑motivation and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, presentation and consultative selling skills.
• Right to work and reside in East Africa.
