About the role
We are seeking a qualified teacher to deliver Irish language, Civic, Social and Political Education (CSPE) and Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) in a job‑share arrangement at Scoil Aireagail. This fixed‑term position covers 22 hours per week (Irish 14 h, CSPE 6 h, SPHE 2 h) and is part of the Kilkenny & Carlow Education and Training Board network.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for Irish, CSPE and SPHE across the allocated timetable.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to whole‑school curriculum development, lesson‑plan coordination and departmental meetings.
- Collaborate with the co‑teacher in the job‑share to ensure consistency and continuity of learning.
- Stay up‑to‑date with syllabus changes, cross‑curricular links and best‑practice teaching methodologies.
Required profile
- Demonstrated professional knowledge of Irish language, CSPE and SPHE content and pedagogy.
- Proven ability to plan, implement and evaluate high‑quality teaching and learning.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with students, parents and staff.
- Self‑awareness and effective self‑management, particularly in a shared‑role environment.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland and willingness to meet the competency evidence requirements.
