Junior Engineer – Solar PV Design

About the role

The client, a leading renewable energy consultancy, is looking for a Junior Engineer to support solar PV design projects in Kenya. Reporting to the Divisional Manager in India, the role will involve technical design work, coordination with regional teams, and contribution to business development.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities with the India office to ensure timely delivery and quality outputs.
• Develop initial PV system concepts, including technology assessment, tilt‑pitch optimisation, DC overload analysis, long‑term energy yield analysis and LCOE calculations.
• Lead and manage advisory assignments for renewable energy projects and support preparation of technical reports.
• Participate in client interactions, site visits in Africa, and gather information for design while identifying implementation risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech).
• 1–3 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably with consulting exposure.
• Experience supporting large‑scale projects (10 MW+) and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Strong written and presentation skills in English; French is a plus.
