Junior HR Specialist – People Function

About the role

This junior position supports the HR Business Partnering agenda for ALAK, working closely with the Executive Committee, Managing Director and People Managers. The role combines recruitment, talent management, performance oversight and day‑to‑day HR operations to ensure the bank’s people strategy is executed effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the HR Business Partnering agenda, providing best‑practice HR solutions to the MD and People Managers.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment: assess staffing needs, prepare role profiles, shortlist candidates, issue offers, generate contracts and onboard new joiners.
• Maintain functional People Plans, succession‑plan database and drive the talent review process, including nominations for the Country Talent Pool.
• Lead the performance management cycle, conduct quarterly reviews, communicate reward principles and handle consequence management for under‑performers.
• Provide HR advisory and operational support: respond to employee queries, interpret and communicate policy changes, and manage exits, transfers, payroll adjustments and relocations.
• Coordinate learning and development initiatives, ensuring approved interventions are signed off and completed.

Required profile

• Experience in HR Business Partnering or a similar advisory role.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leadership (Exco, MD) and People Managers.
• Strong understanding of recruitment, performance management, talent management, learning & development and HR governance processes.
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to interpret and apply HR policies.
