About the role

Karatina University is recruiting a full-time Lecturer in History for a middle-level position in Nyeri, Kenya. The lecturer delivers university instruction and research in the discipline, and the advertised salary range is KES 121,928 to 187,710.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in the discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate level
• Supervise undergraduate projects and other experiential learning programmes
• Supervise dissertations and theses at graduate level
• Participate in developing undergraduate and postgraduate courses
• Initiate, promote and take part in research projects
• Provide professional and community services, and initiate linkages and fundraising
• Carry out other administrative duties as assigned

Required profile

• Earned doctorate from a recognised academic institution, or a master's degree in the relevant field from an accredited university (Health and ICT)
• Registered or registerable with the relevant professional body where applicable
• For the master's route: at least three years of university-level teaching experience, or research or industry experience, and at least one publication
• Publications give an added advantage
