Lower Primary Teacher – Mathematics, Science & Technology

About the role

Strathmore School is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to deliver Mathematics as the primary subject, together with Science and Technology, to learners in Grades 1 to 3. The successful candidate will create engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Mathematics and Science & Technology lessons for Grade 1‑3.
• Design learning activities aligned with Kenya’s Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
• Monitor and assess learner progress, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance and development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership to support learner wellbeing.
• Participate in staff meetings, school activities and professional development opportunities.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification with Mathematics as the primary specialism.
• Valid TSC registration or eligibility to register.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated competence and passion for teaching young learners.
• Desirable: prior experience teaching lower primary (Grade 1‑3) and familiarity with the CBC framework.
• Personal attributes: patient, nurturing, organised, reliable, collaborative and passionate about making mathematics enjoyable.
