MHPSS Workforce Development Consultant (12‑month remote)

About the role

This 12‑month consultancy aims to strengthen UNICEF’s global mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) workforce, improving access to quality services for children, adolescents, caregivers and communities. The consultant will provide technical assistance to design, adapt, implement and scale competency‑based approaches to training, supervision, assessment and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to country offices and partners on competency‑based training, supervision and quality assurance for MHPSS.
• Support the design, adaptation and scaling of competency‑based approaches in both humanitarian and development settings.
• Strengthen country‑level systems and provider capacity for sustainable, safe and effective MHPSS services.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, or Child Protection in humanitarian action.
• Minimum 10 years experience in MHPSS in development and humanitarian contexts.
• Experience supporting UN agencies, NGOs, academic institutions and governments with EQUIP‑based trainings and supervision.
• Fluency in English, French and Spanish.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of the EQUIP platform, resources and tools.
• Strong knowledge of competency‑based supervision, training and assessment tools for MHPSS.
• Experience developing MHPSS monitoring and evaluation/measurement tools.
