NGIS Building Manager – Navy Lodging Operations

About the role

The NGIS Building Manager will oversee daily operations of the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) on Diego Garcia, ensuring compliance with Navy lodging standards and delivering a safe, clean, and high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage building maintenance, housekeeping, front‑desk, and guest‑service functions.
• Conduct regular inspections, identify maintenance needs, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with engineering and contracted teams.
• Maintain accurate records of occupancy, work orders, inspections, and supply usage.
• Oversee inventory of supplies, equipment, furnishings, and materials required for NGIS operations.
• Train, mentor, and supervise staff performing housekeeping and facility support duties.
• Address guest concerns, resolve issues, and ensure a professional lodging experience.
• Implement and enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Communicate operational updates and facility conditions to supervisors and Navy leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in lodging management, hotel operations, or facility management.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or facility‑management certifications preferred.
• Valid passport (minimum one year beyond hire date) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to meet contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• Preferred: prior experience with Navy lodging programs, familiarity with Navy standards, and experience in remote or industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain country‑specific visas.
