Office Cleaner and Chef

About the role

Stratostaff East Africa is hiring an Office Cleaner and Chef in Nairobi. The role keeps the office clean, safe and hygienic while preparing and serving quality meals for staff, covering office cleaning, kitchen management and a staff lunch service in line with health, safety and food hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all office areas, including workstations, meeting rooms, reception, kitchens, washrooms, corridors and common areas; sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and sanitize surfaces.
• Empty waste bins, ensure proper waste disposal and segregation, and clean windows, doors and office furniture.
• Replenish consumables such as tissue paper, soap and hand towels, and keep the office kitchen and dining areas tidy.
• Report maintenance issues, damages and safety concerns to management and store cleaning equipment properly.
• Plan, prepare, cook and serve nutritious, affordable meals; develop menus with management and staff, and ensure meals are served on time.
• Purchase or coordinate food ingredients and kitchen supplies as approved, and manage the lunch program, including meal sales records and stock monitoring.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene in the kitchen and dining area, monitor freshness and expiry dates, and follow occupational health and safety requirements.
• Keep a valid Food Handler's Certificate and assist with refreshments for meetings, training and events.
• Maintain inventory records for cleaning supplies and kitchen consumables and support cleanliness and hygiene initiatives.

Required profile

• KCSE certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Food Handler's Certificate.
• At least 2 years' experience in cleaning, catering, food preparation or a similar role.
• Certificate in Food Production, Catering, Hospitality or a related field is an added advantage; experience managing a small office kitchen or staff canteen is also an added advantage.
