Paediatric Clinical Officer

About the role

The Paediatric Clinical Officer will manage the daily operations of a busy paediatric clinic, working alongside a paediatric nurse and acting as the primary link to consulting paediatricians.

Key responsibilities

• Run the paediatric clinic safely and smoothly every day.
• Assess, diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses and triage sick children (ETAT+).
• Run the well‑baby clinic, monitoring growth, milestones and immunisations.
• Follow up newborns delivered at the practice.
• Prepare and escalate cases to consulting paediatricians.
• Help parents understand their child's care.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Higher Diploma in Paediatrics & Child Health preferred).
• Clinical Officers Council registration and a current practising licence.
• 3+ years post‑internship experience, with at least 2 years in paediatrics.
• Current BLS certification; ETAT+ or PALS certification.
• IMNCI training and private‑sector experience are a plus.
