Paramedic – Emergency Medical Services

About the role

The Dayton Fire Department is seeking a certified Paramedic to join its emergency medical team. You will provide both basic and advanced pre‑hospital care to patients at incident scenes and ensure safe transport to medical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat illness or injury on arrival, following Ohio EMS Board Scope of Practice.
• Deliver advanced life support, administer medications, and perform emergency procedures until hospital hand‑off.
• Assist rescue team members with patient extrication and provide protection for entrapped victims.
• Maintain ambulance medical supplies, ensure equipment readiness, and perform station maintenance duties.
• Complete required documentation and adhere to departmental protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current State of Ohio Paramedic certification and ability to maintain it.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Vision of at least 20/100 uncorrected (20/40 corrected) in each eye.
• Successful completion of annual GMVEMSC Standing Orders testing.

Required skills
