Partner, Health, Safety & Security

About the role

The Partner, Health, Safety & Security supports the safety of employees, partners and assets across offices, field operations and travel, working with internal departments, external partners and local authorities. The role covers contractor and vendor management, HSS data management and analysis, crisis management follow-up, document management and actioning issues raised by risk assessments, facility inspections and audits.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate significant incidents and trends to identify root causes and mitigation
• Assist with country risk assessments and help embed HSS considerations in development, management and program teams
• Disseminate clear guidance on risks such as travel safety, personal safety, well-being, fire and accommodation safety
• Evaluate hazards in workplaces, project sites and during travel, and support risk-mitigation strategies
• Create and update training materials, organize training sessions and run awareness campaigns
• Maintain emergency response plans and oversee corrective actions after incidents
• Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment and work practices
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and report on HSS compliance
• Develop and maintain HSS dashboards, analyze HSS data and prepare regular performance reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or Environmental Science
• Minimum of seven years of overall experience
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager or supervisor
• Experience developing safe workplaces across multiple locations

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of country health, safety and security legislation and procedures
• Writing reports and policies, and training staff on HSS
• Data gathering, analysis and reporting
• Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
