Partnerships Officer (P-2) – Fixed Term – Nairobi, Kenya

About the role

The Partnerships Officer will support UNICEF Sudan’s efforts to expand and strengthen its development partnership portfolio, focusing on donors such as IFIs, BMZ/KfW and other development partners. Based in Nairobi, the role works closely with UNICEF Sudan sections, the World Bank PMU and field offices to secure resources for resilience and development programming.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of the work plan for the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of results.
• Build and maintain UNICEF partnerships by supporting the development and implementation of standards, guidance, work plans and strategies.
• Develop frameworks and templates for partnership agreements and reporting.
• Engage with internal teams across UNICEF Sudan sections, the World Bank PMU and multiple field offices to coordinate donor activities.
• Serve as the internal focal point for specific donor portfolios, ensuring accountability and transparency.
• Monitor and report on partnership performance to sustain and expand support for resilience and development programmes.

Required profile

• Under the supervision of the Public Partnership Specialist (Development Portfolio).
• Experience in partnership development and resource mobilisation within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Familiarity with development partners, including international financial institutions and bilateral donors.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and locations.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
