About the role

The Villa Rosa Kempinski hotel in Westlands, Nairobi is offering a Kitchen – Pastry Trainee Programme for recent graduates. Under the guidance of the Training Manager and departmental trainer, the trainee will learn pastry preparation, kitchen hygiene and overall food‑and‑beverage operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen and personal hygiene standards.
  • Prepare and cook pastry items according to the restaurant’s menu.
  • Assemble and prepare ingredients for menu items and assist with receiving, checking and storing goods.
  • Clean and re‑set the working area and maintain storage areas.
  • Follow occupational health, safety, fire‑emergency and equipment‑use procedures.
  • Communicate effectively within the Food & Beverage department.

Required profile

  • Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognised institution (completion expected 2025/2026).
  • Kenyan citizenship.
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment with good grooming and professional etiquette.
  • Positive learning attitude, outgoing personality and strong communication skills.
