Playhouse Attendant – YMCA Fort Worth

About the role

The Playhouse Attendant creates a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children in the YMCA playhouse. You will supervise children, lead age‑appropriate activities, and keep the area clean and organized while supporting the Youth Programs team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times and conduct regular headcounts.
• Ensure safety by following YMCA policies, responding to emergencies, and reporting incidents.
• Plan and lead games, arts & crafts, storytelling, and educational programs.
• Encourage positive social interaction and adapt activities to individual needs.
• Greet families warmly, communicate daily experiences, and provide feedback to the Youth Programs Coordinator/Director.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized playhouse; stock supplies and report needs.
• Keep accurate attendance records and document any accidents or concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and rotating weekends.
• Previous experience with children in daycare, preschool, camp, or similar settings.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
