Power Generation Leader – East Africa

About the role

KOEL is seeking a dynamic Power Generation Leader to drive growth and market leadership across East Africa. You will shape the company’s regional strategy, build a robust dealer network, and ensure top‑line revenue targets are exceeded.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business plans to position KOEL as the market leader in the East African genset sector.
• Lead direct sales and collaborate with channel partners to expand dealer and distributor networks.
• Identify new market segments, project opportunities, and emerging customer needs.
• Explore business opportunities in neighboring countries and establish regional partnerships.
• Oversee order execution, logistics, and after‑sales service, ensuring warranty and AMC compliance.
• Provide regular business updates, forecasts, and competitive intelligence to regional headquarters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in diesel generators, power solutions, or capital equipment sales.
• Proven track record in revenue growth, channel management, and business development within East African markets.
• Strong network in the power generation sector for industrial, commercial, and public‑sector clients.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of diesel generator applications, sizing, and specifications.
• Leadership and cross‑functional team management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with regulatory, import, and tax frameworks in East African countries.
