Production Manager - Short Film

About the role

IMARA Film, a film and photography studio based in Malindi on the Kenya coast, is producing a fully funded short film of up to 20 minutes about the Kenya coast. It is looking for an experienced, well-organised person to run the production on the ground, from pre-production through to the end of the shoot.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor the budget
• Plan the shooting schedule
• Hire and coordinate crew, cast and locations
• Prepare contracts, call sheets and payment requests
• Run the set on shoot days
• Collect receipts and report weekly to the finance lead, who approves all payments

Required profile

• Experience producing or managing short films, series or commercials in Kenya
• Ideally contacts on the coast
• Ability to finish what you start

What we offer

• A fixed fee paid after each phase, plus a share of the film's revenue
• Travel costs and expenses covered

The timeline is pre-production in December 2026, shoot in January to February 2027, post-production in March to April 2027 and release in May to June 2027. Applications are made by sending a short CV and two projects by 15 November 2026.
