Professor of Child Psychology

About the role

United States International University – Africa is seeking a Professor to teach and conduct research in Child Psychology at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The role involves delivering high‑quality instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to the university’s academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in Child Psychology.
• Support and mentor students in their academic and career development.
• Participate in curriculum development to keep programs current and marketable.
• Engage in program assessment and periodic reviews.
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Conduct scholarly research in the area of expertise.
• Provide service to the university, the profession, and the wider community.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral Degree in Psychology (PhD, PsyD, or equivalent) in a relevant specialization from an accredited university.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral level.
• Minimum publication points as defined by the CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014).
• Experience supervising postgraduate students is an advantage.
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya and any other relevant professional bodies, where applicable.
