Program Development Manager

About the role

The Program Development Manager will support the Impact, Innovation and Influencing Director and country programme staff to grow funding and partnerships for Save the Children Kenya. Based in Nairobi with occasional field travel, the role leads the end‑to‑end proposal development process to ensure timely, competitive, and high‑impact submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, writing, and budgeting of donor proposals in line with the Country Strategic Plan.
• Coordinate with Program Quality and Development (PDQII), Operations, Finance, MEAL, and other senior managers to ensure a seamless proposal process.
• Develop and implement donor engagement plans and continuous learning mechanisms.
• Maintain compliance with safeguarding and vetting procedures for staff interacting with children.
• Respond rapidly to emerging humanitarian emergencies, adapting working hours as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme development, fundraising, or donor relations within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Strong understanding of Save the Children’s Global Breakthroughs and ability to align proposals with these priorities.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑management skills across multiple functions.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle complex, multi‑task environments.
