Program Manager

About the role

The Program Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian and development projects in Kenya. Reporting to the Country Director, you will translate strategic program plans into concrete projects that address urgent needs while ensuring compliance with Qatar Charity policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the country’s humanitarian and development needs using robust methodologies and research tools.
• Develop detailed project plans, set performance indicators, and monitor progress against targets.
• Coordinate procurement activities, ensuring timely orders and adherence to quality‑control guidelines.
• Prepare and submit interim and final reports to the Country Director, headquarters, and relevant government bodies.
• Manage relationships with third‑party contractors, partner organisations, and government agencies to ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Identify and resolve issues that may hinder project implementation, escalating unsolvable problems to senior management.
• Oversee the technical team, ensuring tasks are completed to required standards and within budget.
• Conduct final hand‑over procedures for completed projects in line with local laws and Qatar Charity policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in East Africa.
• Strong analytical skills to assess needs and evaluate project performance.
• Excellent coordination and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
