Programme Management Officer (Fixed Term Limited), NOD

About the role

The United Nations is recruiting a Programme Management Officer on a fixed-term limited basis in Nairobi, Westlands. The position requires extensive experience in development work in developing countries, fund management and donor engagement.

Required profile

• An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in development studies, international development, economics, international relations, political science, governance and public policy, social sciences or a related field; a first-level degree in these fields plus two years of qualifying experience may be accepted instead.
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in development in developing countries, including at least five years at managerial level with inter-agency or multi-stakeholder coordination.
• At least five years of experience in fund management, specifically pooled funding modalities, including joint programme design, allocation processes, fiduciary oversight and results-based reporting.
• At least five years of experience in donor engagement, resource mobilization and coordination with UN agencies, including convening and coordinating senior counterparts across multiple organizations.
• Desirable: supervising professional staff and managing teams, work plans and budgets; leading high-level multi-stakeholder consultations with governments, UN entities and development partners; experience in UN and Delivering as One; 2+ years in data analytics or a related area.
