Programme Management Officer (Fixed Term Limited) P3

About the role

The United Nations is recruiting a Programme Management Officer (P3) on a fixed-term limited basis in Nairobi, Westlands. The position requires a strong background in human settlements and urban development, with a focus on programme and project management.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in architecture, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, economics or physical sciences relevant to the development and management of human settlements, or a related field.
• A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management in human settlements or a related field.
• Experience in urban planning and design, urban management, participatory planning processes and/or local governance.
• At least two years of experience in urban resilience, displacement or durable solutions programming in post-crisis or fragile contexts, including integration of humanitarian and development approaches.
• Desirable: experience designing and implementing human settlements projects and programmes with the UN or similar international organizations; experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and working with government counterparts and development partners; two years or more in data analytics or a related area.
