About the role
The Programme Support Intern will work within the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CPCJ) Programme at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for Eastern Africa in Nairobi. This six‑month, full‑time, unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience in supporting programme implementation, research, coordination and communications related to justice sector reforms in Kenya.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of programme and project activities in crime prevention and criminal justice.
- Conduct research and analytical work on key issues related to crime prevention and criminal justice systems, frameworks, and practices.
- Support the organization and execution of programme activities, including meetings, workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
- Prepare detailed reports, minutes, and activity summaries to document programme engagements.
- Assist in preparing background materials, presentations, talking points, and speeches for programme activities.
- Draft briefing notes and supporting documentation for meetings and engagements with stakeholders.
- Support the development, review, and management of social media content to enhance programme visibility.
- Assist with procurement‑related processes, including drafting terms of reference and preparing relevant documentation.
