About the role
KCB Bank Kenya Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to lead litigation matters. The role involves managing legal strategy, coordinating with external counsel, and protecting the bank’s interests in court.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct legal research, collate evidence, and prepare witnesses for pre‑trial and hearings.
- Develop concept papers, legal briefs, opinions and defence strategies.
- Represent the bank in court or tribunals as a witness or watch‑brief.
- Manage and measure external lawyers’ performance and ensure fee compliance.
- Provide legal guidance to retail branches to mitigate legal and reputational risks.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Diploma in Law.
- At least 5 years of legal experience, including 4 years in legal drafting, corporate governance and risk management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in legal communication and advocacy.
