Property Caretaker

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Property Caretaker in Ruiru. The role covers day-to-day property upkeep, maintenance coordination, cleanliness, security monitoring and liaison with tenants.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the property regularly, coordinate routine and emergency repairs, and ensure facilities, utilities and common areas stay functional and well maintained.
• Liaise with technicians, contractors and service providers, monitor the quality and completion of work and make sure repairs finish on time.
• Keep common areas, compounds and shared facilities clean, monitor waste collection and disposal and maintain the property's appearance.
• Monitor security, report suspicious activity, ensure security procedures are followed and report safety hazards with recommended corrective actions.
• Act as the main point of contact for tenants on maintenance and property matters, handle complaints professionally and foster positive relationships.
• Keep records of repairs, maintenance and tenant issues, prepare regular reports on the property's condition and report incidents, damages or emergencies to management.

Required profile

• At least 2 years' experience as a Property Caretaker or in a similar role.
• Mature, responsible and trustworthy, with a high level of integrity and accountability.
• Experience in comprehensive property management.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs and property operations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple maintenance activities.
