Public Health Specialist

About the role

The Public Health Specialist will work on‑site in Mombasa County, Kenya, identifying and addressing public health challenges through program design, community assessments and environmental risk analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement health programs aimed at improving public health outcomes.
• Conduct community health assessments and analyze environmental health risks.
• Develop strategies and actionable recommendations for policy and intervention efforts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and communicate public health initiatives.
• Provide evidence‑based recommendations to inform local and international health policies.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in environmental health and public health practices.
• Proficient analytical skills for data interpretation and problem‑solving.
• Experience with community health programs and initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills for community engagement and stakeholder collaboration.
• Understanding of local and international health policies.
• Ability to work effectively in an on‑site team environment.
• Relevant degree in public health, environmental science or related fields.
• Prior experience in public health program design and implementation is a strong advantage.
