Quality & Safety Officer – Construction Site

About the role

The Quality & Safety Officer will ensure that all construction activities at the Miwani site meet the required quality standards and safety regulations. You will conduct inspections, coordinate material testing, maintain records, and support safe and efficient site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine site safety inspections and identify workplace hazards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations.
• Lead daily toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
• Perform risk assessments and support permit‑to‑work processes.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near‑misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Deliver safety inductions and training for employees and contractors.
• Inspect emergency equipment and ensure site emergency preparedness.
• Collaborate with project teams to promote a safe and compliant work environment.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or Building Construction.
• 1–3 years of experience in construction safety or quality control.
• Basic understanding of occupational health and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of construction quality control standards and material testing procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with construction quality control standards.
• Experience with material testing procedures.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and manage permit‑to‑work processes.
