Records Management Officer II

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority seeks a Records Management Officer II to maintain institutional records, archives, and information systems. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Implement policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures for records management and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Update and maintain records, including file movement records, and implement an electronic records management system in collaboration with the ICT department.
• Participate in staff sensitisation on records management and implement disaster preparedness, management and recovery programmes.
• Collect and collate data for reports and implement risk mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Records Management, Library Science, Archives or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Proficiency in computer applications.

Required skills

• Implementation of electronic records management systems.
• Ability to manage disaster preparedness and recovery programmes.
