Records Management Officer II

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), which provides civilian oversight of the police under the IPOA Act, is recruiting a Records Management Officer II (Grade IPOA 9, position consolidated) in its Records and Information Management department at headquarters, reporting to the Senior Records Management Officer II. The salary range is KES 90,000 to 130,000.

Key responsibilities

• Implement policies, strategies, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures affecting records management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Update records in the Authority
• Implement the electronic records management system in collaboration with the ICT department
• Maintain file movement records
• Take part in sensitizing staff on records management
• Implement the disaster preparedness, management and recovery programme
• Collect and collate data for reports in the records management division
• Implement risk mitigation measures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Records Management, Library Science, Archives and Records Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
