Retail Sales Representative

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Retail Sales Representative in Nairobi. The role drives sales growth by building relationships with retail customers, distributors, wholesalers and hardware stores, increasing product availability and visibility, expanding market coverage and meeting sales targets while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Sales and business development: identify and develop new retail customers, promote the product portfolio to retailers, wholesalers, distributors and hardware stores, and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Customer relationship management: build and maintain relationships with existing customers, visit them regularly to assess product performance, and resolve inquiries and complaints promptly.
• Merchandising and market coverage: monitor product availability and visibility at outlets, recommend product placement, and find new retail outlets and sales opportunities.
• Sales administration and reporting: prepare quotations, process orders and follow up deliveries, monitor accounts and support collections, and prepare sales reports, customer visit reports and sales forecasts.
• Market intelligence: track competitors' products, pricing and promotions, gather customer feedback, and take part in promotional campaigns, trade exhibitions and product launches.

Required profile

• Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least three years of sales experience in the FMCG sector.
• Experience in detergents, cleaning chemicals or hygiene products is highly preferred; experience selling to hardware stores and retail outlets is a distinct advantage.

Required skills

• Strong sales, negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
• Good understanding of retail sales operations and territory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
