Safeguarding Associate Field Manager (Kaloleni, Kenya)

About the role

The Safeguarding Associate Field Manager works directly in Kaloleni to ensure that all program activities protect the dignity and rights of beneficiaries. You will collaborate with field staff, community members, and local partners to identify and mitigate safeguarding risks.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with communities, recipients, and staff to spot safeguarding risks and take early preventive action.
• Receive, document, and support responses to safeguarding concerns using survivor‑centred case management and established escalation pathways.
• Conduct investigations of field‑based safeguarding incidents as needed.
• Develop and maintain a network of local safeguarding focal points to improve risk identification and best‑practice sharing.
• Provide safeguarding input to program planning, design, and delivery to ensure safe and inclusive activities.
• Deliver ongoing safeguarding training and sensitisation sessions for staff and partners.
• Represent safeguarding priorities in field operations and build trusted relationships with local leaders and partners.
• Monitor safeguarding trends, prepare self‑assessments, routine reports, and address gaps in practice.

Required profile

• Experience working on safeguarding, protection, or related fields in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of survivor‑centred approaches and case management protocols.
• Ability to travel regularly to remote field sites and work independently.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders.
