Sales Account Manager East Africa - Nairobi

About the role

Optoma is the #1 DLP brand in EMEA and is hiring its first direct sales hire for East Africa, a ground-up entry into the continent's fastest-growing display market. You will build distributor relationships, win direct accounts and execute a structured sales plan to drive revenue from day one. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role reporting to the Territory Manager META.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory sales plan for projectors, IFPs and displays across East Africa.
• Identify, appoint and onboard new authorised distributors in Kenya from scratch, and expand the reseller network into Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
• Win B2B accounts in education, corporate, government and NGO/international organisation sectors.
• Engage early in procurement cycles so Optoma is specified in tenders and RFPs.
• Organise product demos, training events and workshops for distributors and end-users.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts and reporting, and meet quarterly revenue targets and sell-through milestones.
• Gather competitive intelligence and report market trends to the Territory Manager META.

Required profile

• B2B sales experience in IT, AV or display technology; proven track record in projector or IFP sales preferred.
• Direct experience with the East African dealer/distribution channel and knowledge of the education market and government procurement.
• Demonstrated ability to build a channel network from scratch; existing AV distributor or reseller relationships in Kenya are a strong advantage.
• Results-driven, with a consistent record of meeting and exceeding targets.
• English required; Swahili is a strong advantage.
• Comfortable with autonomy and reporting remotely to the Territory Manager META; greenfield sales experience is a plus.
