Sales Executive - Cross-Border Payments (Nairobi)

About the role

Kuwa Pay helps SMEs and traders make safe, efficient and compliant payments to suppliers in China, including paying them in RMB and USD. It is looking for a practical, on-the-ground sales executive in Nairobi who knows the city's trading markets well. This is a mid-level position that is not desk-only; it values real market knowledge, trusted local relationships and practical execution.

Key responsibilities

• Build and coordinate market outreach across Nairobi's key trading areas.
• Recruit, train and manage local promoters for merchant outreach and onboarding.
• Identify active trading areas, merchant groups, importers and high-potential customers.
• Explain payments to China, customer onboarding and basic product use.
• Build trusted relationships with traders, wholesalers, shop owners and market groups.
• Gather market feedback and share practical insights with management.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience in Nairobi wholesale or open-air markets such as Gikomba, Kamukunji, Eastleigh, Mlolongo/Athi River or similar areas.
• A strong network among traders, wholesalers, importers, shop owners or market associations.
• Experience recruiting, organizing and supervising field promoters or sales teams.
• Confidence in merchant acquisition, field sales and frequent market visits.
• Fluent Swahili and confident English.
• Reliability, initiative and readiness to work on the ground.
• China sourcing, importing or cross-border payments experience is an advantage.
