About the role
The Sales Manager for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting to contract closure and after‑sales support, while building strong relationships with strategic clients in Kenya's energy storage market.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and nurture relationships with key decision‑makers at utilities, IPPs, EPC firms, developers and other strategic accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities, generate leads, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and achieve sales targets.
- Provide technical information on BESS solutions, conduct product demonstrations, presentations and workshops.
- Analyse market trends, client needs and competitor activity to shape sales strategies.
- Prepare regular reports on account activities, forecasts and customer feedback for senior management.
- Collaborate with product development, marketing and customer service teams to align offerings with client requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy or a related field.
- 5+ to 10+ years of experience in sales, account management or business development, preferably in renewable energy or energy storage.
- In‑depth knowledge of BESS technology, market dynamics and key industry players.
- Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal abilities.
