Sales Manager - FMCG

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Sales Manager in Thika within the FMCG industry. The role covers sales strategy, channel and distributor management, key account development, team leadership and sales reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies that drive revenue, market penetration and sustainable growth, set targets and build action plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers and other channel partners, and monitor distribution coverage, stock movement and sales performance across territories.
• Manage relationships with institutional buyers and strategic accounts, negotiate commercial terms, contracts and pricing, and maximise customer retention.
• Lead, supervise and coach the sales team, set performance expectations, run regular sales reviews and take corrective action.
• Analyse the market, support product launches, promotions and trade activities, and prepare regular sales reports, forecasts and performance updates for management.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven sales experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, agro-processing or a closely related industry.
• Experience managing distributors, retailers, wholesalers, institutional buyers and strategic partners.
• Track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, and experience leading a sales team.

Required skills

• Understanding of distribution channels, route-to-market strategies and customer relationship management.
• Negotiation, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities; ability to work under pressure in a target-driven environment.
