Scaffolder (Level 3 / Level 4)

About the role

Q-Sourcing is hiring a Scaffolder (Level 3 / Level 4) for its Construction / Site Operations department in Nairobi. The role reports to the Site Supervisor, Construction Manager or HSE Officer and involves safely erecting, modifying and dismantling complex scaffolding systems according to approved designs, engineering standards and health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Erect, modify and dismantle complex and heavy-duty scaffolding in line with approved drawings and safety standards
• Interpret scaffolding drawings, load calculations and technical specifications
• Inspect materials and completed structures for integrity, stability and compliance
• Install guardrails, toe boards, access ladders, platforms and other safety components
• Ensure proper anchoring, bracing, tying-in and stabilization of scaffolding
• Carry out routine maintenance, safety inspections and risk assessments, and report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately
• Work with engineers, supervisors and HSE teams, and tag and certify scaffolding as safe before handover
• Maintain housekeeping and proper storage of materials, and comply with company policies and project requirements

Required profile

• Valid Scaffolder Level 3 or Level 4 certification from a recognized body
• At least 2 years of practical scaffolding experience in construction, oil & gas, infrastructure or industrial projects
• Demonstrated experience with complex, heavy-duty scaffolding
• Strong knowledge of scaffolding safety regulations and working-at-height requirements
• Ability to read and interpret scaffolding drawings and technical documentation
• High level of safety awareness, discipline and reliability

• Teamwork, communication and problem-solving in high-risk environments
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Advantages: experience on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects, additional HSE or Working at Height certifications, First Aid certification, and supervising junior scaffolders (for Level 4).
