Senior Accountant – Church Finance (Nairobi)

About the role

The Church is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage and safeguard its financial resources in Nairobi. This role supports senior ecclesiastical leaders by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, adjustments, and maintain the general ledger.
• Conduct account reconciliations, clear outstanding items, and review expenditures against budget.
• Assist in preparing financial estimates, expense reports, and audit project accounts for policy compliance.
• Support priesthood leaders and junior accountants through training and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CPA(K), ACCA, CISA) and membership in relevant bodies.
• 4‑6 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting theory.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, self‑driven and goal‑oriented.
