Senior Accountant

About the role

The Church seeks a Senior Accountant to manage and safeguard its financial resources, ensuring compliance with internal controls and religious directives. This professional will maintain accurate ledgers, prepare financial reports, and support budgeting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Reconcile accounts, review reconciliations, and clear outstanding items.
• Prepare journal entries, adjustments, and special financial studies.
• Analyze budget requests and explain variances.
• Consolidate accounting data for statements and summaries.
• Review expenditures against budgets and perform necessary investigations.
• Assist in preparing financial estimates and expense reports.
• Monitor high‑value invoices and audit project accounts for policy compliance.
• Provide guidance to junior accountants and coordinate accounting matters across departments.

Required profile

• Current temple recommend holder.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
• Professional membership (CPA, ACCA, CISA, or similar).
• 4–6 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accountant code of conduct.
• Extensive experience with computerized accounting systems.
