Senior Malaria Advisor – LEAP Global (Kenya)

About the role

The Senior Malaria Advisor will be embedded within Kenya's National Malaria Program (NMP) and the Ministry of Health to provide high‑level technical leadership for malaria prevention and treatment. The role supports life‑saving humanitarian assistance in line with the latest U.S. Presidential Executive Order directives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert malaria technical guidance to the NMP and Ministry of Health.
• Support the development and implementation of national malaria strategies, work plans, and policies.
• Coordinate design, planning, and execution of malaria prevention and control activities.
• Identify programmatic bottlenecks and facilitate coordinated technical solutions.
• Embed within the NMP, receive day‑to‑day direction from the National Malaria Program Manager, and report weekly and monthly to the U.S. Department of State.
• Ensure alignment of program activities with Presidential Executive Order directives and U.S. government objectives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in malaria control or infectious‑disease programs.
• Proven experience working with national malaria programs, ministries of health, or similar governmental entities.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
• Willingness to work onsite in Kenya and adhere to reporting requirements.
