Senior Manager, Financial Control

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Control to lead its global financial control framework. You will ensure compliance, drive standardisation, and support professional development across finance teams while managing donor audits and mitigating financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the effectiveness of SCI’s financial control framework through quality reviews and analysis of country financial returns and KPIs.
• Engage with country, global and member teams to develop and implement action plans that address financial risks and control weaknesses.
• Manage the QRR financial control and compliance process, preparing KPI reporting and risk commentary for senior finance leadership.
• Lead global donor audit teams, ensuring accurate reporting, minimizing disallowances and creating remediation plans.
• Drive standardisation and automation of financial control processes across the organisation.
• Provide expertise to embed best‑practice controls and support the development of financial control skills within global and country finance teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in financial control, audit, and risk management, preferably in an international or non‑profit setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of around nine finance professionals.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
• Legal right to work in the country of assignment for the duration of employment.
