Senior Officer - Premium Administration

About the role

Jubilee Life Insurance Limited is hiring a Senior Officer for Premium Administration, based at its Head Office in Nairobi and reporting to the Assistant Manager - Premium Administration. The role covers Direct Debit Arrangements (DDAs) and related premium collection, ensuring accurate mandate management, timely collections, efficient reconciliations and resolution of collection exceptions. It also involves monitoring performance, maintaining data integrity, strengthening operational controls and providing technical support to the Assistant Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end DDA administration: mandate registration, validation, submission, activation, amendments, cancellations and record keeping.
• Prepare, validate and submit DDA collection instructions to banks and authorised service providers, and monitor scheduled collections, failed deductions and outstanding premiums.
• Resolve mandate discrepancies, incorrect banking details and customer instruction issues, and administer other arrangements such as salary deduction orders and standing instructions.
• Reconcile DDA collections against bank statements, collection reports, treasury records and policy administration systems, allocating premiums correctly to policies, accounts and investment funds.
• Investigate unmatched, unallocated, duplicated, reversed or suspense transactions, and arrears, underpayments and overpayments; support month-end, quarter-end and year-end reconciliations.
• Monitor key operational indicators, prepare daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports, and analyse collection trends and payment patterns.
• Engage banks, policyholders, agents and brokers, and liaise with Finance, Customer Experience, Underwriting, Claims and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, internal controls and regulatory requirements, and maintain audit trails and documentation.
