Senior People Leader – HR Strategy & Learning

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Senior People Leader to own the People function for its Zambia pilot program. Reporting to the Deputy Country Manager, you will partner with the COO to design and execute a comprehensive People strategy that drives continuous learning, professional growth, and operational excellence for a rapidly scaling team of over 200 staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of Zambia’s People strategy, aligning HR initiatives with business goals.
• Provide senior HR partnership to the COO and country leadership, shaping culture and talent practices.
• Oversee HR operations, people systems, and staff support across headquarters and field teams.
• Identify and address organizational challenges before they become barriers to growth.
• Design and implement learning and development programs, including workshops, bootcamps, coaching, onboarding, and repeatable learning tools.
• Collaborate with Field, Impact, and Global teams to ensure consistent learning outcomes.
• Strengthen core people systems such as onboarding, career pathing, feedback loops, and staff development processes.
• Foster a high‑performing team culture through sustainable staff experience initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level HR professional with proven experience leading People functions in fast‑growing organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale learning and development initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking and partnership skills with senior leadership.
• Experience managing HR operations for both headquarters and field teams.
