Service Writer – Automotive Customer Service

About the role

The Service Writer is the primary point of contact for customers visiting our automotive repair shop. You will translate customer needs into clear work orders, ensure smooth communication with technicians, and help build lasting loyalty through exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and manage the service lane efficiently.
• Communicate vehicle issues and repair plans between customers and technicians.
• Inspect vehicles, diagnose problems, and verify warranty coverage.
• Prepare accurate estimates for parts, labor, and deductibles.
• Create detailed repair orders and obtain customer approval for recommended services.
• Update customers on service progress and any additional recommendations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair procedures.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Dependable, honest, and outgoing personality.
• Availability to work weekends and some holidays.
